MKTY Sponsors Ethiopian Library & Information Association Annual meeting at the Sheraton Addis.
The Ethiopian Library & Information Association was successfully held last month (August 31st 2006) at the Sheraton Addis.
Most of ELIA’s members close to four hundred people from all over Ethiopia participated on the meeting.Present at the event was Minister of culture and Tourism, the directors of National Archives and British Council in Ethiopia. MKTY is one of the three sponsors of the full day event along with British Council and National Archives. The event was covered on the national TV channel and on several local news papers.
MKTY presented it’s one of a kind solution .eLM a solution for content and application development of integrated Library and resource management system. The system is developed by CGI Group International Ltd. of New Zealand .eLM is the most innovative library & resource management solution available in the market and is used globally at universities, schools, archives, banks, public and corporate libraries and museums.

In addition to being a multilingual system, it can also be implemented on local and wide area network and on the Internet. eLM can be configured to suit specific library and archive requirements and is based on a fully integrated modern Windows development environment making it extremely robust and flexible. .eLM supports all media types including word processing documents, spreadsheets, images, audio/visual, PDF and text files can be attached to any bibliographic record and viewed locally or via the WebOPAC on the wide area network or the internet, making .eLM a vital e-learning and resource sharing tool. eLM is currently implemented at The British Council library, National Archives & Library (NALA), Ethiopian Airlines, Office of the Federal Auditors General, and Gondar University libraries in Ethiopia. Implementation is also currently being done at the Jimma University. |
